Privacy Policy

This site is run by me, Meredith Guthrie. I collect as little information as I can, and I never sell it.

When you contact me. The contact form asks for your name, email, project type, timeline, and a description of your project, plus your organization if you'd like to add it. Your message is sent to my email inbox through Resend, an email delivery service. It isn't stored in a database on this site. Resend keeps a short-term record of sent messages as part of its service. I use what you send only to reply to you and discuss your project.

Spam protection. The form reads your IP address briefly to limit repeated submissions. It isn't stored.

Analytics. I use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how visitors find and use the site, such as which pages are read and how quickly they load. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice anytime with Cookie settings in the footer. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights don't use cookies. I don't use this data to identify you, and I don't use advertising cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Fonts and content. The site's fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts. Site content is managed in Sanity, and no visitor information is sent there. If a page includes a YouTube or Vimeo video, that service may collect information when you play it.

How long I keep information. I keep contact messages in my email for as long as needed to respond and manage any work together, and delete them when they're no longer needed. Google Analytics data is kept according to Google's retention settings, for no more than 14 months.

Where information is stored. The services this site uses (Google, Vercel, and Resend) are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there.

Legal basis. If you're in the UK or EU, I use your contact details to respond to your request, and I use analytics cookies only with your consent.

Your choices. You can ask me what information I have from you, or ask me to delete it, by emailing meredith@medievalhistorian.com.

Changes. If this policy changes, I'll update this page.
