Meredith Guthrie, PhD, undertakes evidence-led historical research for private clients, institutions, archives, and academic projects.
Research built around the surviving evidence
Projects may draw on British and European primary sources, archival documents, legal and administrative records, manuscripts, genealogical material, and relevant published collections. Each inquiry is assessed according to period, geography, source survival, access, and the historical question being asked.
The service does not include legal research or expert-witness work. Meredith does not promise to establish medieval, royal, or noble ancestry; findings report what reliable surviving evidence can support.
Deliverables and archive access
Deliverables are selected for the project and may include a written report, organised research file, consultation, source references, record images or extracts where permissions allow, or transcription. Remote research is normal. Physical archive visits may be scoped separately when geography, access, and the project justify them.
Collaboration and confidentiality
Meredith may occasionally collaborate with Sticks Research Agency when a project benefits from it. This is not a standing partnership or automatic referral arrangement. Client identity, family information, and research materials are confidential by default.
